It's the last day of 2023, and if you're like me, you'll likely be spending it reflecting on the things you've done, the places you went and the memories made. This time last year, I was on a last-minute trip to Paris (thanks to points and miles!) and ended up getting engaged moments before fireworks lit up the sky. What a way to ring in the new year, right?

But now it's also time to look back at some of the top stories of the last week of 2023, including a look at the best programs to book cheap economy award flights in 2024, so maybe you too can get engaged in Paris (or at least take in its beauty). Another hit was a story about private island resorts that you can book — without having to be a billionaire.

We also had a bunch of great hotel reviews, including a firsthand look at Dolly Parton's new resort at the foot of the Smoky Mountains, an over-the-top stay at the Rosewood London and a trip to Japan at the Conrad Osaka.
