How to snag award space by Kyle Olsen, Points & Miles Reporter If you're relying on airline websites and phone agents to find airline award space, you're missing out. But there's a great tool that can help: ExpertFlyer simplifies award redemptions by finding available space so you can book your dream trip. ExpertFlyer offers three plans, including a free option. The basic plan, $4.99 per month, adds features like award and upgrade inventory search. The premium plan, $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year, includes unlimited queries and more alerts. With ExpertFlyer, you can access airline schedules, seat maps, flight statuses and award availability. It covers 38 airlines but excludes carriers like United Airlines and Delta Air Lines. My favorite feature? You can set alerts for specific flights or seats, and you'll be notified when they become available. There's no need to constantly go to your airline's website and check for award space or different seats. With an alert, ExpertFlyer will email you when award space or your preferred seat becomes available. I love using ExpertFlyer for short-haul American Airlines flights. By setting an alert for the American Airlines T fare, I can book with a partner program like British Airways Executive Club if award space becomes available.
