Double miles on everything by Kyle Olsen, Points & Miles Reporter The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card remain two of the best credit cards on the market. Both are consistently ranked among the top credit cards available today. They offer a simple earning structure of 2 Capital One miles for every dollar spent on eligible purchases, which translates to a generous 3.7% return in Capital One miles based on TPG's latest valuations. Additionally, the Venture card provides 5 miles per dollar spent on hotels and car rentals booked through the Capital One travel portal, while the Venture X card offers 5 Capital One miles for flights and 10 miles for rental cars and hotels when booked through the same portal. What sets these cards apart is their ability to earn more miles in everyday spending categories that typically only offer 1 mile per dollar. For instance, I frequently use my Venture X card for purchases at pharmacies and home improvement stores and for car maintenance expenses, all of which are retailers where I used to earn just 1 mile per dollar.
