| Full-time travel for less | by Katie Genter, Senior Writer | | | My husband and I travel full time as digital nomads, using a mix of points, miles and cash to fuel our travels.
We love redeeming IHG One Rewards points and Marriott Bonvoy points earned from our cobranded hotel cards for hotel stays, and we enjoy redeeming American Airlines miles earned through cobranded AAdvantage cards and Bask Bank for long-haul business-class partner flights.
But many of our best redemptions come when we transfer flexible rewards points — like Chase Ultimate Rewards points from our Chase Sapphire Preferred Card and Citi ThankYou Rewards points from our Citi Premier® Card — to airline and hotel programs for high-value redemptions.
For example, you can transfer several types of rewards to British Airways Executive Club. Earlier this month, we flew from London to Frankfurt for just 4,750 Avios plus about $31 per person.
We also snagged an award from Qingdao, China, to Seoul, South Korea, for just 5,000 Flying Blue miles plus about $14 per person. Flying Blue miles are easy to earn since you can transfer four different types of rewards at a 1:1 ratio.
We've also gotten great value transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt. Just this year, we've redeemed 226,000 Hyatt points for 36 nights with an average redemption rate of 3.27 cents per point. We absolutely loved our stays at Nanuku Resort in Fiji (pictured above), the Hyatt Regency Sofia in Bulgaria and the Hyatt Regency Bali in Indonesia.
We lean most heavily on the Chase Ultimate Rewards program, but we also enjoy earning and redeeming other types of transferable points. To learn more, check out the following stories:
