Flying high on inflight perks by Tarah Chieffi, Travel News Reporter I spent entirely too much of my life thinking that "normal" people like me couldn't take advantage of airline perks like complimentary upgrades, free checked bags and discounts on inflight food and beverages. After unlocking the power of travel cards with inflight perks, it only feels right to share what I've learned so that you don't miss out on valuable years of perk-packed travel like I did. If you want to enjoy discounts on inflight purchases, you can't go wrong with the Alaska Airlines Visa® credit card, one of American Airlines' AAdvantage cards, a Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards card or a Delta Air Lines SkyMiles card. TPG's current count of cards that can get you free checked bags when you fly is 26. This can be a valuable perk if you are on Team Checked Luggage (or, like me, you have too many kids).
