| Earn up to 300,000 bonus miles | by Brian Kelly | | | There's an updated credit card offer out with a welcome bonus of a total of 300,000 miles that TPG values at over $5,500, making it one of the biggest card sign-up bonuses of all time.
But, before I get you too excited about this new limited-time offer, I need you to know that in order to get the 300,000-mile bonus available now on the Capital One Venture X Business Card, you will need to spend a total of $100,000 in the first six months. The first 150,000 miles of the bonus are unlocked after $20,000 in spending within the first three months, and then you'll have to hit a cumulative $100,000 in spending by the six-month mark to earn the next 150,000 miles.
Those that can meet the spend should get at least $3,000 in value from these 300,000 miles if you redeem them at 1 cent each for travel charges, though you can get even more value than that by transferring to partners like Air Canada Aeroplan and Air France-KLM Flying Blue. I get at least 2 cents in value per mile when I leverage them with airline partners like those.
This can get even more lucrative when Capital One has a transfer bonus to one of its hotel or airline transfer partners or when one of the partners has a sale, such as the discount of 20% off awards happening through Jan. 31 with Virgin Atlantic.
While the Venture X Business has a $395 annual fee, it basically pays for itself with the $300 annual travel credit valid in the Capital One Travel booking site and the 10,000 bonus miles at each renewal, which I value at close to $200.
In fact, this is the card that I use for my own small businesses, such as the farm I have in Pennsylvania, to keep things easy for everyone buying supplies and such since it earns 2 miles per dollar on all everyday charges.
There are also valuable perks, such as included access to the growing network of Capital One Lounges (already open in Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, Dulles International Airport and Denver International Airport).
If the spending requirement for this card is outside your range, here are some other noteworthy card deals: Stay tuned next week as I recap my recent trip to Finland and share how you can chase the northern lights yourself. Until then, I'm off to Tokyo soon, so follow along on Instagram (@briankelly), and have a great weekend!
