Get the max value from points and miles transfers by Cameron Sperance, Senior Hotels Reporter Before I was a member of the TPG team, I was an avid TPG reader. But the one thing that always confused me was how folks transferred points and miles from a credit card or one loyalty program to a different loyalty program. If you asked me, it seemed like an arduous process involving a 5-mile hike to a Chili's where you had to tap three times on the front door and then shake the left paw of the goat who secretly was the general manager. Then, and only if you asked nicely with a wink, that goat would deposit your American Express Membership Rewards points into your Delta Air Lines SkyMiles account. I'm happy to report: It's not that difficult. Check out Nick Ewen's stellar guide explaining how to transfer credit card rewards to partner programs. It explains everything you can do to make sure that business-class bargain is still waiting for you once you transfer points to the necessary partner. I made my first points transfer from Amex to Delta in order to go on my honeymoon a few years ago, and it's been off to the races ever since.
