Creating your first comic strip is easier than you think! Follow these 5 simple steps to bring your story to life:
Step 1: Brainstorm to Success – Think of a simple plot, relatable characters, and a humorous or impactful punchline. Take inspiration from your favorite manga and comic characters.
Step 2: Sketch the Layout – Use a piece of paper or a digital drawing tool to sketch three to four frames that tell your story. Keep them even in size and layout for a clean look.
Your goal is to tell a story within these frames.
Step 3: Add Basic Shapes then Details – Begin drawing your characters and settings using basic shapes. Add expressions, movement lines, and speech bubbles after nailing the basics.
Step 4: Write Dialogue and Captions – Add your text inside speech bubbles for characters and captions for narration. Keep it short and snappy for maximum impact.
Step 5: Add Finishing Touches – Go over your sketches with ink or a darker pen, then add color for a polished look.

The Toronto Maple Leafs logo features a blue maple leaf with the team name encircling it in a clean sans serif font.
The team was originally known as the Toronto St. Patricks, but in 1927, owner Conn Smythe changed the name to the Maple Leafs to honor the maple leaf as a national symbol of Canada and the badge of the Maple Leaf Regiment in World War I.
