How to actually pay your mortgage or rent to earn Bilt points

One of the flashiest parts of Bilt 2.0 is the ability to earn points when paying not only rent, but also a mortgage. And since we promised to walk you through all the big components of Bilt 2.0, today we're going to dive into what it takes to pay your rent or mortgage via Bilt, in case that's on your monthly to-do list. How to earn points on your mortgage via Bilt If you want to earn points on your mortgage via Bilt, you'll first need to have one of the three new Bilt credit cards. You'll also need to link a bank account to Bilt in the "Wallet" section of your Bilt account. From there, you'll have two options: paying your mortgage from the Bilt side or from your mortgage servicer's side using a Bilt account number. Option 1: Navigate to the "Home" section in your account and select "Add a mortgage." You can also select "Pay a different bill" or "Looking to pay for a different home?" if you're setting up a second mortgage or just a new payment. You will likely need information such as your mortgage provider and account number. Pay your bill and earn rewards using either the tiered points option or the Bilt Cash option, depending on which one you selected for the month. Option 2: Instead of making the payment within the Bilt site, you can actually initiate it on your mortgage provider's site. From the same "Home" section in your Bilt account, you can select "View payment instructions," as highlighted below. Once you click there, you will see BillPay account information, including a routing number and an account number. Hit "Show" to display those numbers, and then you can go and paste them into your mortgage provider's website. Make payments through your mortgage servicer's website as normal — either one at a time or on autopay. Instead of billing your bank account, it should go through Bilt's account before hitting your bank account within about one business day. How to earn points on your mortgage via Bilt If you were already paying rent with Bilt 1.0 or at a location in the Bilt Alliance, you may have received an email instructing you to set up autopay again for rent through your Bilt account in the 2.0 transition, which should be all you need to do in that case. However, if you are new to paying rent via Bilt, then navigate to the "Home" section and set up a payment. You'll have payment options such as an online rent payment portal, checks, Venmo and more. With rent payments, you currently have a few more options than with mortgages, such as earning 3 points per dollar spent with an Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards card (with a 3% fee).
