| | | | | | | | | | | | | Welcome back to Bilt Navigator! Last week, we covered Rent Day. Now let's talk about the other 30 days of the month.
Bilt offers something called "Neighborhood Benefits," which means you can earn bonus points and other perks at places you're probably already going — restaurants, gyms, pharmacies and more.
And here's the best part: You don't even need a Bilt credit card to take advantage of this. As a Bilt Rewards member, you can link any Visa, Mastercard or American Express cards already in your wallet to your Bilt account. Once they're linked, you'll automatically double-dip by earning both your standard card rewards and Bilt's bonuses on the same transaction.
| TPG tip: There are Neighborhood Benefits partners all over the country, so you want to add any card to your Bilt Wallet, no matter where you live, to earn more Bilt Rewards Points. | How to activate your rewards
Join Bilt Rewards for free, download the app and tap "Neighborhood" at the bottom of your screen to see every partnership in your area. Here's how to set up the big ones in about five minutes:
- Link your current cards: Tap "Wallet" in your Bilt app and add any credit card you use regularly. This is the "set it and forget it" step that ensures you earn Bilt points automatically when you spend at partner locations.
- Browse dining partners near you: Tap "Dining" in the Neighborhood tab to see over 20,000 restaurants where you can earn up to 3 points per dollar spent just by paying with a linked card. So for a $100 meal, you can earn 300 extra points, in addition to your usual credit card rewards.
- Set Bilt as your Lyft rewards partner: In the Rideshare tab, link your accounts. Once set, you'll earn 2 Bilt points per dollar spent on every ride. In other words, a $50 ride to the airport means an extra 100 points toward your next trip.
- Connect Rakuten for online shopping: In the Everyday Rewards tab, link your Rakuten account. This is a hands-off way to turn your online shopping "Cash Back" into a constant stream of Bilt points.
- Transfer prescriptions to Walgreens: You'll earn 100 Bilt points for each prescription refill (up to 26 times per year), plus 2 points per dollar spent on Walgreens-branded products and 1 point per dollar spent on everything else. You can also save on eligible FSA/HSA items automatically, and soon members will get complimentary photo prints.
- Book fitness classes through Bilt: If you take classes at SoulCycle, Barry's, Rumble Boxing or other partner studios, book through the Bilt app to earn 2-3 points per dollar spent.
- Earn on parking: Register your license plate in the Metropolis parking section to earn 1 point per dollar spent automatically at Vision technology lots. At standard lots, just pay with any linked card.
- Order essentials through Bilt Home Delivery: Tap "Home Delivery" to order from Gopuff. You'll earn 1 point per dollar spent and can even pay with Bilt points if you want.
| TPG tip: It may sound too good to be true, but if you dine at a participating restaurant and pay with a registered Citi Strata Elite℠ Card, you'll earn your normal 3 Citi ThankYou points per dollar spent (and even more during CitiNights), plus 3 Bilt points per dollar spent. | Why you should care
The Neighborhood Benefits program isn't just about points. Many of these partnerships include built-in "Bilt-only" extras that save you money right away.
At select Bilt Dining partners, you can use Mobile Checkout to pay from your phone and sometimes even find surprise "gifts from the kitchen" for members. The fitness partnerships are even more lucrative with add-ons like these:
- SoulCycle: Free shoe rental and water
- Barry's: A complimentary smoothie
- Rumble Boxing: Free glove rentals
- CorePower Yoga: A complimentary mat and towel rental
If you're strategic, you can easily rack up a few hundred, if not thousands, of Bilt points per month without even opening a new credit card.
But if you do decide to add a Bilt card to your wallet later, you can stack even more rewards. For example, dining at a partner restaurant with a Bilt Obsidian Card (see rates and fees) means you'd earn 3 points per dollar spent from your card (or 6 points per dollar on Rent Day), plus 3 points per dollar spent from the Neighborhood Benefits partnership — that's 6-9 points per dollar total on a meal you were going to have anyway.
| TPG tip: Eligible spending across the Bilt ecosystem can help you earn elite status, including Neighborhood Fitness bookings, Bilt Dining purchases (with any linked card), Lyft rides (with Bilt set as your rewards partner), Walgreens purchases (with any linked card) and Bilt Travel Portal bookings. | The next time you're about to order takeout, book a ride or refill a prescription, open the Bilt app first. You might be one tap away from earning points you'd otherwise leave on the table.
