Labor Day means sales on some of our favorite WIRED-tested tech. Here are some of the deals we’re most excited about. It’s the best time to buy … • Headphones: WIRED commerce editor and headphone expert Harry Rabinowitz has been shouting at anyone who will listen that the premium Sony WH-1000XM5 is the Sony headphone deal to grab before Labor Day: It’s $199, down from $399. “Fifty percent off is something you almost never see in headphone land,” he says. “This is even more true for premium, best-in-class cans like the XM5s.” • Outdoor gear: The REI Labor Day Sale features WIRED faves for up to 40 percent off, and REI Co-Op members save up to 20 percent on any REI Outlet item. The majority of these Labor Day sales will run throughout the weekend and start tapering off by Tuesday.
